Aiming to immerse visitors in ‘a poetic experience for the bathroom’, Laufen will showcase its contemporary Marcel Wanders-designed collection during Salone del Mobile’s International Bathroom Exhibition. The booth – an intriguing artistic concept – was designed by Zurich-based firm, Fuhrimann and Hächler, and reflects a characteristically purist, concrete look.
The booth is inspired by the award-winning Laufen movie [featured below] and using bold, strong lines and a mix of materials – all of which are carefully selected and designed by Gabrielle Hächler and Andreas Fuhrimann – showcases the brand’s Swiss heritage. The booth will highlight Laufen’s new Saphirkeramik Project, which was created in collaboration with Dutch designer Marcel Wanders – whose avant-garde, cosmopolitan designs are recognised worldwide – alongside Wanders renowned New Classic, Ludovica+Roberto Palomba’s Kartell by Laufen, Patricia Urquiola’s Sonar, Konstantin Grcic’s Val, Peter Wirz’s Cleanet Riva and Navia.
A bit about the Kartell collection
Ludovica and Roberto Palomba, the minds behind Kartell by Laufen, have continued the experimentation and development phases of the project and will be presenting an engaging new ‘conceptual exercise’ at Milan Design Week.
The conceptual exercise, will be based at the Kartell by Laufen showroom on Via Pontaccio and is inspired by an East meets West theme, and is encompassed within a bright orange box – a vibrant hue that expresses the cultural theme and Kartell’s genesis in a bold and playful manner.
Laufen will also be hosting a cocktail party from 7pm – 9pm on Tuesday 17th April at the Kartell by Laufen flagship showroom in the Brera design district.
