Unveiled at CES 2017, LG’s new flagship Door-in-Door refrigerator features a 29-inch touch LCD display complete with InstaView. Designed with convenience in mind, the InstaView feature allows the users to view the contents of their fridge from multiple angles with a simple double knock on the screen.
Teamed up with webOS, consumers will be able to explore a host of WiFi-enabled features directly on the refrigerator, creating a streamlined and powerful food management system.
Implementing the same technology as the Amazon Alexa Voice Service, this smart fridge gives users access to an intelligent personal assistant. Turning daily tasks into a dynamic and entertaining experience, the smart assistant function enables the homeowner to search recipes, play music, and order grocery shopping, as well as control an entire smart home.
In addition to this plethora of smart functions, the LG Smart Refrigerator also boasts a Smart Tag menu. Allowing users to add stickers and tags on the screen to indicate which foods are stored, the smart fridge can issue reminders as to when foods are near expiration.
Commenting on the company’s new innovative product Song Dae-Hyun, president of LG Electronics and Home Appliance & Air Solutions Company, remarked “By working with Amazon, we are able to broaden our smart refrigerator’s capabilities and further provide our customers with a pleasurable cooking and dining experience.”
