It’s the first day of Salone del Mobile! Here’s what’s in store for visitors to the Whirlpool stand…

Milan’s most important design event for the kitchen and bathroom industry: Salone del Mobile has officially opened its doors to visitors today. The landmark trade show is famed for being full to the brim with innovative product launches, awe-inspiring designs and design-focussed crowds from around the world.

In the Eurocucina halls, at stands A11-A15 and B14-B18, kitchen appliance brand Whirlpool will be showcasing its premium W collection, and inviting visitors to see how innovation and connectivity can transform ‘every food journey’. As well as sensitively reacting the user and ‘learning their world’ in order to offer a customised experience, Whirlpool’s W collection can also connect with one another and exterior technology, such as Google Assistant.

“With voice control, you don’t have to think about how to manage your appliance – it speaks your language!” said Marco Signa, Connectivity Senior Manager, Whirlpool EMEA. “We demonstrate how Google Assistant can give you hands-free control over your oven, which is incredibly helpful when you’re busy cooking or when you wish to keep on top of things from elsewhere in the home.”

The connected range is also easily managed through the brand’ 6th Sense Live app, which boasts additional features, such as a meal planner, that enhance the functionality of the W collection.

The W collection

The W built-in ovens

Offering intuitive control and a simple guided cooking experience – via the 4.5” TFT MySmartDisplay and self-supporting MultiSense probe – the W Collection ensures food will be cooked to perfection every time.

W built-in microwaves

Matching the oven models in many ways, the W microwaves feature a MySmartDisplay interface, WiFi connectivity and features such as Crisp and CrispFry which can bake and fry dishes without any additional oil.

W built-in cooktops

The new induction and gas hobs in Whirlpool’s W collection again feature a MySmartDisplay and assisted SmartSense cooking technology; while the induction models boast FlexiFull, which uses ten independent coils, that connect to form one all-encompassing cooktop and allows for pans to be placed in any position.

W built-in extractor hoods

The T-shaped and vertical extractor hoods offer integrated task lighting, a CookSense system which connects with the hob to automatically offer a tailored extraction setting. In addition, the AirSense feature naturally detects the air quality of the room and purifies the air when required.

New additions beyond the W range

Whirlpool will also use the Eurocucina stage to introduce its Space400 built-in fridge freezer – which features an extra-large 400-litre capacity, FreshControl setting that automatically adjusts the humidity levels to keep food fresher for longer and FreezeControl that minimises temperature fluctuations in the freezer. Alongside this will sit the brand’s new 450mm dishwasher, that encases a high-tech PowerClean Pro system.

Crowning glory

Whirlpool’s ‘Jewel’ sits centre stage in its Eurocucina pavilion and offers visitors a special showcase that explores the development of the brand’s leading-edge design aesthetic. Orbiting the theme of ‘infusion’, the Jewel incorporates a treasure trove of colours, finishes, materials and appliances.
