During the exciting events of this year’s London Design Festival, Domus plans to unveil a truly unique new collection. The UK launch of the Liquid Forms range – from KAZA Concrete – will remind us of the incredible versatility, innovation and unique aesthetics that are possible within the surface design sector.
Liquid Forms was designed by New York-based architect Aybars Asci, and is the latest in a line of award-winning 3D tiles from KAZA Concrete, and available from Domus. Renowned design personality, Aybars Asci is the founder and director of Efficiency Lab for Architecture and winner of the Walker Zanger KAZA Concrete Tile Design Competition.
Taking a fresh perspective on concrete – a simple, industrially-associated material – Asci has captured the essence of concrete in its liquid form and created a flowing, shapely design that gives this often-overlooked material a new elegant character. The design was originally inspired by the work of Baroque sculptors and the concept of expressing flow in a solid form. Its sinuous waves and ripples give the collection its Liquid Forms name, while, with two different curve formats, 30 available colours and three textural finishes – matt, gloss and metallic – KAZA Concrete ensures that these original tiles are versatile enough to fit any contemporary space.
Among the highlights of this month’s London Design Festival, on Wednesday 20th September at 1pm, architect and designer Aybars Asci will give a ‘Concrete Stories’ design talk at Domus Clerkenwell, to discuss his work with concrete and how the material has influenced his thinking.Domus | domusgroup.com
