Editor Martin Allen-Smith discusses the key themes of this month’s issue

Welcome to the July issue of Designer Kitchen & Bathroom. A big focus for us this month is Europe. No, we’re not getting tangled
up in the intricacies of a hard, soft or medium-strength Brexit, but instead we are considering the machinations of design within some of the leading European kitchen and bathroom manufacturers. We find out about the product development processes, the respective merits of working with in-house or external designers, and how other factors help to inform and inspire the design process for some of the biggest brands in the business.

We also examine a range of product categories in this issue, including surfacing solutions that bring a whole new set of opportunities for the walls and floors within a project, and storage solutions that ensure every single space in the kitchen delivers for the homeowner.

And finally, don’t miss your very last chance to be in the running for one of the industry’s top honours. The deadline for the 2017 Designer Kitchen & Bathroom Awards has just been extended to 10 July, so there is still just about time to put your very best kitchen or bathroom projects forward for potential glory in the K&B sector’s most important design awards. Manufacturers can still enter their very best new products for the Product Innovation Award categories too, so visit the awards website at designerkbawards.com to submit your entries. Good luck!
