Utilising sustainable British timbers and a myriad of traditional techniques, this Sebastian Cox kitchen, from deVOL, presents an iconic urban-rustic style.
Shown to its best in the company’s Cotes Mill showroom, a 1000-year-old property now used as the base for deVOL’s showroom and design studio. The rough sawn cabinetry of the Sebastian Cox kitchen in combination with the mill’s crooked stone walls, low beams and uneven floors crafts a very earthy, rustic tone. The urban, contemporary element is given through the island’s metallic countertop and slim freestanding legs of the design.
deVOL selected one long run of cabinetry to stand on the far wall, with an undermounted copper sink and topped with a wooden countertop. The kitchen is finished with two freestanding pieces: a beautifully simple dresser under the wall cupboards and the copper-topped island with a unique woven back. The combination of the on-trend, dark wood and copper elements is perfectly balanced by the thick wooden beams and white walls and ceiling, while the abundance of natural greenery, on-show crockery and ambient pendant lighting ensures the space is warm, welcoming and an ideal hosting space for guests over the holidays.deVOL | devolkitchens.co.uk
