Dada creates custom-made kitchens and bathrooms for New York’s 56 Leonard Street skyscraper

Making an impact on New York’s famous skyline, the sparkling new 56 Leonard Street tower was designed by Pritzker Prize winner Herzog & de Meuron. The building boasts sculpted cantilevers and sparkling glass elements, cladding the exterior, while the interior is dissected into 146 residencies, including 10 remarkable penthouses.

Created in collaboration with Herzog & de Meuron, each apartment’s Dada kitchen and bathroom designs are inspired by the sculptural structure of the building itself. Predominantly featuring rounded islands, finished in a slick black lacquer and topped with an innovative sliding granite worktop, the kitchens toy with the simplicity of monochromatic colours. The kitchens’ dark islands stand in stark contrast against the glossy etched-mirror cabinetry of the surrounding walls.

Similar to the kitchens, Dada’s bathroom designs focus on shapely aesthetics and simple monochromatic finishes and are set against large windows which make the most of the city’s breath-taking views.

Dada also contributed bespoke mirrored linen closets and 286 cabinets with mirror sliding doors, to reflect the views of the cityscape. Other amenities of the building include a library lounge, 25-seat cinema, children’s playroom, catering kitchen, gym and outdoor/indoor pool.
